Dynamic support system is a system that allows the tree to move within a given range of motion and incorporates some form of shock absorbing device. The shock absorber functions to decelerate tree parts before stopping them to minimising potential damage from shock loading. This can be accomplished in many ways. Pictured here is a COBRA tree support system. This is a system composed of synthetic fiber with a rubber shock absorber inserted in to the line that cushions the branches before bringing them to a stop. The COBRA system is installed loosely in the tree to allow the tree to move freely but prevents the branches from moving past the point of failure.
