Wrong Tree Wrong Place
Plants have evolved in different environments and have different requirements in order to be healthy. Each plant has evolved suited to a certain ecosystem that is made up of specific temperature, amount of annual rain, soil type, soil moisture, amount of exposure to, sun, wind, and different organisms. In order for a plant to be successful in the landscape it is important to emulate the plants native environment as much as possible. If a plant has evolved in a dry, sandy, full sun exposure it probably will not do well in a shady wet environment. Another common problem is planting very large trees too close to houses and power lines.
